At least seven people have been confirmed dead and 136 others missing as a boat carrying 150 people from a local market in Ngaski Local Government Area of Kebbi state capsized along the River Niger.
According to PUNCH, the Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency in-charge of Sokoto State, Kebbi and Zamfara states, Sulaiman Muhammad, said seven people were hospitalized after the accident which happened on Saturday.
He said the Nigerian Inland Waterways Authority and local fishermen are trying to rescue the missing passengers.
He said;

The boat was said to have hit a tree branch in the water.“All the people on board were missing, but as search and rescue operations intensified, 14 people were discovered; seven died and seven have been taken to Ngaski Hospital,”

Really sad. I hope we won't record too many more casualties from the missing lot.
