A train leaves from a city called Knox heading towards Bronx at 120 km/h. Three hours later, a train leaves Bronx heading towards Knox at 180 km/h. Assuming there’s exactly 5000 kilometers between Bronx and Knox, when they meet, which train is closer to Knox?

Interesting... Make I get my pen &paper take do small analysing
ReplyDelete@adeyey I hope u have the answer.... I did little approximation work....I find out it will take train from Knox-bronx approximately 42hours @120km/hr while train from Bronx to knox after 3hours @180km/hr will take approximately 28hours to get to its location... So in a nutshell,,, the second train will be the first to get to its location.....👈👈👈👈👈👈👈👈👇👇👇👇👇
ReplyDeleteSo the second train definitely should be closer to knox. I guess
DeleteBoth trains would be at the same spot when they meet therefore they are both equally close to Knox.
ReplyDeleteSure they trains will meet at the same spot because they are assumed to be traveling via same route...........
DeleteI think you have a point but this question I believe is based on assumptions
They will both get there at the same time!! @
ReplyDeleteReally.... OK...explain how pls
DeleteIs that actually the question ?
DeleteWhen they meet, which train is closer to Knox?
Nice brain teaser
ReplyDeleteLet me come
From the above....
ReplyDeleteAn analysis can be drawn...
Knox-Bronx @120km/h=7200hrs; 42hrs
Bronx-Knox @180km/hr=10800hrs; 28hrs....
Probably they will meet on transit; even with reference to the fact that the second train left 3 hours after the first one, from the above analysis, the second train will be closer to Knox when and anywhere they meet in transit
But my question is......
ReplyDeleteHow possible is it that from Knox - Bronx is approximately 42hours and from Bronx - Knox is approximately 28hrs......
@admin Seun.....
What is the difference between the two locations
Another instance of this question.....
ReplyDeleteWith reference to no assumptions, I think the both trains will be closer to Knox since they are at the same spot, will move at same velocity, and same route.....
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 to me
Admin nice work............@Oluwaseun
ReplyDeleteKeep this up, I love this kind of thing, It helps us test our IQ somehow
