Vanguard is reporting that expulsion of a queen from the palace in Idumuje-Ugboko community of Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State over allegation of infidelity leveled against her by some palace chiefs, is causing a major rumble in the community.

However, the Queen Mother, Her Royal Majesty Okwukwe Nwoko, has said that those behind her plight were people who want to usurp the functions of the king, Obi Agbogidi Nwoko III, who is indisposed and threatened to use legal means to secure her legitimate position.

Speaking to reporters at Idumuje-Ugboko, she claimed that she was unjustly ejected from the palace when she was seven month pregnant for her husband, the king, adding that as a faithful African woman, infidelity was strange to her nature.

The Queen added that she was ready to subject herself and the child in question to DNA test or the traditional oath taking to prove her innocence.

She claimed that her love for the royal majesty was so strong that she could not do anything that will bring disgrace or shame to the king or the palace.

She appealed to the Obi-in-Council, opinion leaders and the people of Idumuje-Ugboko to allow her go back to the palace and take care of her husband.

In a swift reaction, a member of the royal family, Prince Obi Nwoko, maintained that the Queen Mother was found to be pregnant outside wedlock and was consequently sanctioned according to the tradition and custom of the people.

However, the Iyase of Idumuje-Ugboko and a former editor, Chief Chris Ogwu, disclosed that the Obi-in-Council was yet to address the matter, adding that the 90-year-old traditional ruler was not happy over the exit of his spouse.
