This 2-Year-Old Girl Successfully Undergoes Surgery To Remove 3rd Leg (Graphic Photo)

A little girl born with an incredibly rare 'third leg' has successfully had the limb removed. Marsha Sena, 2, underwent the tricky procedure in January in Delhi, India.

The graphic pictures show x-rays of the girl's deformity and the doctors cutting into the flesh and muscle. The operation was a success and she is now recovering at hospital.

The girl suffered from Polymelia , a birth defect where the affected individual has more than the usual number of limbs. In humans and most land-dwelling animals, this means having five or more limbs. The extra limb is most commonly shrunken and/or deformed.4 5-1 7 1-2 3-1
