Ooni’s Palace Sends Strong Warning To Oba Of Lagos

The Ooni of Ife’s palace has finally reacted to the trending saga involving Oba of Lagos snubbing the Ooni Of Ife.

Premium Times recently reached out to the Head of Palace Directorate of Tourism, Awoyemi Tunde, who addressed the issue warning the Oba of Lagos to apologize of risk the wrath of Alale. He said;
“It is not a slap on the Ooni of Ife but rather a slap on the Oba of Lagos,” “The stool of the Oba of Lagos was founded by Olofin Ogunfunminire and the Ooni of Ife is the Oba of Yoruba land.
“The Oba of Lagos has to come to terms with the fact that Ooni is the royal father of Yoruba land, it is necessary that all persons come together to unite Yoruba land but really the issue at the event is very condemnable”.
He also said that the Akiolu risked the wrath of the ‘Alale’ (Ancestors), as a result of his disrespect for the superior monarch, saying;
“God gave Ooni of Ife Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the mandate to unite the Yoruba land and nothing will stop him from doing that,”
“If we don’t receive an apology especially with the image of Ile-Ife, we will call on the ancestors on the issue,”

  4. What are this people saying? The stool of Ooni has never be in-charge of the entire Yoruba land before. The only king that had ever been was Alaafin, and event had overshadowed it. Even Soun of Ogbomoso and Olubadan have constested the supremacy with Alaafin and won. Any attempt by any group of people or king to position Ooni stool as supremacy to any other paramount ruler will never bring peace. You can bet me on this. Every paramount ruler controls his domain, and no paramount ruler is greater than other, if there is any? Alaafin iku-baba-yeye should be given the accolades as the last emperor we know.

    1. Every race have there own culture, and as far as yoruba race is concerned the role of Ooni stool comes to no second to any obas in the yoruba kingdom. If any one is not ascertained just go check on history.

  7. The small envy the big. Oba of Lagos, your offence is against Oduduwa. Please humble yourself, before you are humbled by the King of Kings, the maker of crowns. Olodumare sees all.
