According to Russian news outlet Sports.ru, sources close to the CSKA have confirmed that the North London outfit are close to securing the signature of Golovin for £10 million.
The publisher also says that the Russian club have asked Arsenal to immediately loan the 21- year-old back to them upon completion of the deal.
While, an alternative option that has been suggested could see the midfielder, who is already a Russia international with 12 caps to his name, loaned out to Hull City so that he can work with former manager Leonis Slutsky.
Golovin will be Arsene Wenger's second signing after they announced their first summer signing with the free transfer of Sead Kolasinac.
