On Friday, the Times revealed that Liverpool’s opening bid of 28 million pounds for Salah was rejected by the Italian side.
The Times also reported that “Mohamed Salah has agreed a £90,000-a-week contract with Liverpool, who are continuing negotiations with Roma over a transfer fee for the Egyptian winger.”
Now, Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio has on Sunday posted his insight in the Liverpool-Roma deal, and he’s highlighted the problems in getting the transfer over the line.
Di Marzio notes that Salah is poised to receive a four year deal at Anfield, while his annual salary including bonuses could reach five million euros.
However the deal is being held up as the clubs haggle over the transfer fee. Roma want 45 million, while it’s believed the Giallorossi would accept 40 million. Liverpool, however, are yet to up their bid.
Suggesting the deal may fall through, Di Marzio reports that Liverpool are “evaluating other options”, although no names are disclosed.
