French full-back Benjamin Mendy has completed his £39.8million move from Monaco to Manchester City after agreeing a £100,000-a-week, four-year deal with the option of a fifth.
City boss Pep Guardiola splashed out on the 22-year-old, leaving his summer spending at nearly £120m in just a week.
According to SunSport, the near £40m move was sealed late last night, and the fee could rise depending on whether City win the Premier League or Champions League.
Mendy is expected to officially sign the deal and for it to be confirmed by both clubs when he is released from international duty.

“Everything was agreed between the two clubs late on Thursday night. Mendy and City had already agreed terms.
“There are bonuses attached to the fee depending on trophies. It will be official once he’s done his duties with France.
Guardiola started the week by snapping-up Portuguese star Bernardo Silva for £43m from Monaco on a five-year deal.“City aren’t done yet either, they still want to bring a few more faces in. Pep still wants a left-sided defender as well.”
