Actress Omotola Finally Opens Up On Why She Had ''Real $ex'' In Her New Controversial Movie, Alter Ego

Omotola Jalade Ekeinde played a woman with multiple personalities and was in some s*x scenes in a new drama, “Alter Ego”.

The new movie by Moses Inwang‘s Sneeze Films, which also stars Wale Ojo has just been released and as expected, people are talking about the s*x scenes.

In an interview with Jayne Augoye of Premium Times, Omotola discussed what her husband thinks about the movie.

On how her husband perceives her s*x scene in the movie, Alter Ego.
Some of the s*x scenes in Alter Ego were downplayed because I’m married. But I won’t play the s*x scenes if it wasn’t necessary to be included in the film. I know by starring in this movie that my fans would either hate me or love me forever.
While shooting the film, I knew I was doing something quite risky. There are several ways to shoot a s*x scene tastefully. I’m all for playing a s*x scene convincingly and my husband knows this. I tell my husband, “You know what darling, you married an actor”; and secondly, he is my biggest fan. I tell him, “Do you want me to be great or do you just want me to be good?” He will say, “I want you to be great, sparklingly great”.
Then I’ll say, “ Ehen, we go love o” and he’s fine with it. He understands but just like every other human being and the professional that he is, he too wants to be convinced that I played a s*x scene because it was necessary. I know when he watches movies sometimes he would say, “Did they have to kiss if they were not going to kiss well?” When I wasn’t even confident, I starred in a movie called a prostitute, which was released 22 years ago. If I didn’t die then, is it now? I’m ready.
On if Nigerians will embrace such movies
You don’t even have to “chop” somebody’s mouth if you don’t want to. If the scene is not about you showing real mad crazy love then you can’t now be showing mouth to mouth kissing or removing of clothes. In Nigerian movies, we have downplayed chemistry.
I hope we can bring that back. Back in the day when I shot Mortal Inheritance in 1995, I had to spend time with my co-star, Fred Amata. He was already a renowned director and in those days, directors were revered. So imagine, my director who had directed me in a movie prior now acting as my lover. I was really afraid that we broke the ice by spending time with each other.
So, he demystified himself and we had chemistry and you could tell. So, I’m hoping all of this returns to Nigerian movies. So, as professionals, we need to ask ourselves if it is necessary for a movie to have a s*x scene and when it is, it should be done well.

  4. I don't understand, is it that Nigerians are pretending or this is just how far their brain can take them? People should grow up abeg. Nigerians are hypocrites, you don't like Nigerian film because it's too fake now she is a prostitute because the movie is too real. If your small brains tells you that thing is real sex, them the white house and people killed in the movies olympus has falling is real white house. Grow up Nigeria.

  11. My contribution is if at all actress and actors want to play sex in a movie they should act the films with they husband who is legal to they privacy. How could a married woman play sex scene in a film with another man who is illegal to her privacy? I wonder which religion thought this!!!!

    2. Thank you Hassan. It's only Christianity, what a terrible religion. Did the Bible teach us so? Did Christ promote such?

    1. It might not be real but some parts are real. Can you have a husband and you'd see him acting such, tell me you'd be happy to tell the world he's an actor doing sex scenes in movies.

  18. Nawa oo... When we nigerians watch Nigerian movies, we will say it is fake and at times switch off the movie.... Now the person who acted something real in this nigerian movie went to the extent of agreeing that she did act a sex scene real.... Now tell me my fellow nigerians, how foreign actors have u witnessed being interviewed if they really acted a sex scene?...we cant even be proud that we are doing something real in our nollywood movies these days...

  20. Funny isn't it. How actors and actresses perform sexual scenes in movies and we say it's good and lovely. Not judging but it's highly wrong doing such for people to view. Sex is a gift for private life not for public view. How would her daughters feel seeing this on TV? Abeg let's call a spade a spade, we're simply carried away by worldly acts and all wants to blend. Protect your family, name, personality, and identity and not your fans.

  21. Real sex or not, most importantly her husband is very satisfied with the role she played in the movie. Therefore, I strongly believed that he was duly and properly briefed even before the shooting of the movie. Abeg, Let not drink panadol on someone headache. Again, the issue of religion should not even come in at all, if people can use religion to kill their fellow human being, then what is so special about acting sex scene that are very common in other foreign movies.

  22. Why is everyone comparing Omontalo Stupidity act with foreign movie? It nt okay even if the husband say that in a public eyes. Men is always men, do you anyone live with them at home. This woman is a very well seasoned actress, she should know better and stop this act of deception. For crying out loud she is a married woman with a family, her wrong is totally wrong.

  23. Listen guys....There is nothing like real sex in a movie when it is not porn...Fine, the kissing, romance and smootching can be real but the d*ck will never enter the pu**y. They will only act it like real sex by showing you real reactions such as the way they moar, screem and shout. This is why they are called actors, they will act it so real for us to see. Let them show us behind the scene of this sex scene, you will see directors, sound men, light men n people standing next to them. So sex can't happen but anything aside penetration can happen. They are only doing there job and business strategies. Nobody is a fool, not even wale, omotola or the husband.
