Court Postpones Kidnapper Evans' N300M Suit Against Police

The N300m fundamental human rights enforcement suit by suspected kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadikea.k.a. Evans against the Inspector-General of Police has suffered yet another setback after it was adjourned.

The case was adjourned till July 27, 2017, after Justice Chuka Obiozor declined hearing the case over the refusal of Evans’ lawyer to pay the punitive cost of N20,000 awarded against him at the last adjourned date.

Counsel for the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Effiong Asuquo, noted that Ogungbeje gave him a post-dated cheque for N20,000 but he rejected it.

Justice Obiozor agreed with the police lawyer and directed Ogungbeje to comply with the cost order on the cost awarded against him.
