Antonio Conte Claims It Was Chelsea Board's Decision To Sell Matic To Manchester United

Barely 2 weeks after reports emerged that Nemanja Matic was going to be sold to Manchester United as a favor for his great service to the club by club owner, Roman Abramovich, who did the same for Petr Cech to Arsenal, Antonio Conte has confirmed the report.

The 29-year-old Serbian then signed a three-year deal at Old Trafford a week after the report surfaced and now Conte, says it is for the Chelsea board to clarify the reasons why of.having to surprisingly allow Matic to strengthen a direct rival.

Jose Mourinho has expressed his delight at being able to capture the midfielder with whom he lifted the title two seasons ago.

Asked why Matic was allowed to make the move instead of being sold elsewhere, Conte said abruptly: 

“You have to ask the club about this.”
