Akiolu made this accusation yesterday at a public lecture on security organized by the Police High Command, held at the Grand Ballroom of Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, with the theme, ‘Providing Strategic Solutions To Emergent Security Challenges: The Essentials of Synergy Among Security Agencies and the Civil Populace.’ said that as a military dictator, Buhari was responsible for making the Police ineffective.
He asserted that he did this by seizing all the vehicles under the then Inspector General of Police (IGP), the late Sunday Adewusi on the suspicion that the then IGP had plans to usurp him.
He stated that the President should return and atone for his past mistakes by helping the police become more effective with better funding.
He said;
“The military in this country killed the efficiency of the Nigeria Police. The only thing saving us right now is that only a serving a policeman can become an IGP. If not, a retired army officer would have become an IGP.
“We all need to support the Police as the issue of security is not only a problem of the police.”
Lmao.......abi this one oba don the talk,,e be like say money no the flow as usual
ReplyDeleteImagine statement, what has this got to do with police effectiveness with their job.....
ReplyDeleteSeizing all the vehicles under the then Inspector General of Police (IGP), the late Sunday Adewusi on the suspicion that the then IGP had plans to usurp him has nothing to do with police being active or not, states like Anambra state, the Governor made better provisions for the movement of these policemen and I know some other Governors did same, so I don't think their ineffectiveness should be attributed to Buhari's policy
