"This Invasion Is Barbaric And Sacrilegious" - PDP Reacts To Ozubulu Anambra Church Attack

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the Sunday church killing that took place in Anambra.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Dayo Adeyeye, the PDP described the attack as “barbaric, sacrilegious”, adding that it indicates that “our society is fast degenerating into a state of anomie with total moral collapse.”

The statement reads;
“The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is shocked to receive the news of a gunman attack in the early hours of this morning at St. Philips Catholic Church in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, killing and injuring several worshipers.

“This invasion is indeed barbaric, sacrilegious and a serious indication that our society is fast degenerating into a state of anomie with total moral collapse and utter disregard for the sanctity of human life.
“We sympathize with the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano and the entire people of the State; and in particular, worshipers of St. Philips Catholic Church and families of the Victims. We wish those injured, quick recovery; and may the Souls of the departed rest in the Lord, Amen.
“The killings is a call for moral rearmament by all and sundry. It is also a wake-up call for the Government to do more in the area of protection of lives and property. God bless Anambra State! God bless the PDP!! God bless Nigeria!!!”
