See What Is Happening To First Bank's Cashier After Stealing N9.3m From A Customer's Account
Chief Magistrate A. O. Awogboro convicted him of stealing. Before sentencing, the convict’s counsel Philips Onyama made an allocutus for his client and pleaded for a sentence of a fine, or a lenient jail term.
“He’s a first time offender; he has no father, only a sick mother who relies on him to survive. He has been in custody since March 24, 2014 and has suffered emotional and physical torture. He is also now more sober and refined,” Onyama added.
Pronouncing judgment, Chief Magistrate Awogboro sentenced Anibolu to four years in prison. Anibolu, 26, committed the offences on March 22, 2014, at FBN Alaba 2 branch in Ojo.
He fraudulently changed a customer’s identity and mandate card which enabled him to debit the said account of the sum N9 million and transferred it into various accounts. .
A forensic auditor attached to the bank, Solomon Akhanolu, was able to link the fraud to Anibolu through the password he used to change the customer’s identity and mandate card.
According to Anibolu’s confessional statement, his accomplices, who are still at large, promised him N4m as his share of the fraud, but they disappeared with the money and gave him nothing.

Our Daily Bread Devotional, January 27, 2017 - Unseen Heroes
Read: Exodus 17:8–15
Bible in a Year: Exodus 16–18; Matthew 18:1–20
Aaron and Hur held [Moses’s] hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset. Exodus 17:12
Stories in the Bible can make us stop and wonder. For instance, when Moses led God’s people into the Promised Land and the Amalekites attacked, how did he know to go to the top of the hill and hold up God’s staff? (Ex. 17:8–15). We aren’t told, but we learn that when Moses raised his hands, the Israelites would win the battle, and when he lowered them, the Amalekites would win. When Moses got tired, his brother Aaron and another man, Hur, held up Moses’s arms so the Israelites could triumph.
We aren’t told much about Hur, but he played a crucial role at this point in Israel’s history. This reminds us that unseen heroes matter, that supporters and those who encourage leaders play a key and often overlooked role. Leaders may be the ones mentioned in the history books or lauded on social media, but the quiet, faithful witness of those who serve in other ways is not overlooked by the Lord. He sees the person who intercedes daily in prayer for friends and family. He sees the woman who puts away the chairs each Sunday in church. He sees the neighbor who reaches out with a word of encouragement.
God is using us, even if our task feels insignificant. And may we notice and thank any unseen heroes who help us.
Dear Father, thank You for creating me and gifting me in my own unique way. Help me to serve You and others faithfully and to appreciate those You have sent to help me.
Unseen heroes are always seen by God.
Insight: In Exodus 17, it’s interesting that the task of holding Moses’s hands in the air did not fall only to Moses. Moses needed Aaron and Hur’s aid. It seems that the need for help is part of the point of the story. The entire army and the nation of Israel itself were depending on him. If he had failed—and on his own, this was virtually a guarantee—Israel would have lost the battle and many people would have died. Perhaps the dramatic moment when Moses realized his need for help prepared him for applying this lesson to his life. The leadership of the nation was too much responsibility for him alone. He needed help (see Exodus 18). The battle with the Amalekites reminds us of the reality that we do not, cannot, and need not stand alone.

20 APC Senators Will Soon Defect - Akpabio Reveals
He commended Fayose for speaking for the PDP, and said some senators from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have made up their minds to join the opposition the party after the crisis rocking the PDP is resolved.
Akpabio said this at the expanded caucus and the 73rd national executive council (NEC) meeting of the PDP held on Thursday in Abuja.
He claimed that despite the defection of some PDP lawmakers, the party still had very significant number of lawmakers.
“There is no election that will be conducted in the former PDP 28 states that the party will not win. That is a matter of fact,” he said.
“As I speak, so many senators from the opposing party are eager to join PDP.
“All they want is return of peace to the party, once that is done I can assure that 20 senators are on their way to joining the PDP.
“Message to those who are thinking of defection is to retrace their steps because PDP is bouncing back to victory in 2019.”
Akpabio regretted that the PDP lost elections in Edo and Ondo states, and advised the party to put its house in order ahead of Anambra and Ekiti elections.

Unknown Gunmen Shoot General Overseer Of Reigners’ Bible Church's Counsel
It was learnt that the gunmen gained entrance into his house through the main gate around 2:27am and advanced to his room where they shot him twice on his two legs before they made away with four laptops.
A family source, who did not want to be named, told Punch that the assailants accused Ekpo of being responsible for the lies Weeks told the commission.
According to the source, the gunmen claimed that Weeks had never told lies, and that the drama that
was seen in the Commission of Inquiry was purely the handiwork of Ekpo.
Ekpo is said to be recuperating in an undisclosed private hospital where he is receiving care.
The state chairman, Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. Aniekan Akpan, confirmed the incident. He said Ekpo was shot last night around 2am on his two legs.
Akpan stated that he just returned from the hospital where Ekpo was receiving treatment.
The NBA chairman added that the police were investigating the matter to determine whether the attack was an assassination attempt or armed robbery.
“I am just from the hospital now, where Ekpo is receiving treatment. The police are working on it to unravel the determine whether the attack,” he said.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Cordelia Nwawe, said she had not been informed of the incident and therefore could not confirm what she did not have knowledge of.
Ekpo was the lead counsel for Weeks during the Commission of Inquiry set up by the state government to determine the immediate and remote cause of the collapsed Reigners’ Bible Church building in Uyo Village Road on December 10, 2016.
He had defended his client up to the extent of seeking compensation for Weeks. The collapsed building killed scores of worshippers and injured hundreds.
