See What Is Happening To 16-Year Old Girl Who Stabbed Her Uber Driver To Death

A 16-year old girl has been arrested and charged as an adult with first degree murder after allegedly stealing a knife and a machete from a Walmart store and using it to stab her Uber driver to death in suburban Chicago.

Chicago Tribune reports that when the suspect, identified as Eliza Wasni was arrested behind a building near the crime scene, she was found with the knife and the machete.

The deceased, 34-year old Grant Nelson called for help at about 3.20AM on Wednesday, saying that he was stabbed by his passenger as he was dropping her off.

Sadly, Nelson died at a nearby hospital a few hours later.

Nelson’s blood-splattered silver sedan remained in the intersection as police investigated his killing.
“We are heartbroken by the loss of one of our partners,” Uber, a car-hailing service provider, said in a statement. “Our deepest sympathies and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”
Surveillance footage from Walmart showed Wasni walking around the store with a knife and machete and then leaving without paying for them, the prosecutor said.

Following the news of his death, a Facebook user who claimed to work in the Walmart store said:
Police says Nelson picked up Wasni a few blocks away from the Walmart store, and minutes into the ride, she began stabbing him.

He managed to pull over his Hyundai and run to a nearby condominium building lobby, where he pushed buzzers and yelled, “Help me, help me. I’m going to die,” Assistant State’s Attorney Michelle Cunningham said.

Judge Michael Hood who heard the case on Wednesday, ordered her to be held without bail and called the crime “extremely violent.”
